    Despite currently being in lockdown in Melbourne, which has just been extended for another week (yes, folks, here we go again!), it has been an amazing few weeks for the Republic, with four Official Selections for film festivals around the world being added to our recent announcement of becoming an Official Selection for Apulia Web Fest – and an award nomination in the UK!     Speaking Daggers officially selected for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s Shakespeare Film Festival in UK!

    We are delighted to announce that the short film, Speaking Daggers, which grew out of the Shakespeare Republic universe, produced by Incognita Enterprises in conjunction with Independent Schools Victoria and released at the inaugural Arts Learning Festival at ACMI in May this year has received it’s first film festival official selection! The film will have it’s UK premiere at The Shakespeare Film Festival, run by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust as part of the Filming Shakespeare: Crossing Borders Short Film showcase in Stratford-upon-Avon on Saturday, September 23rd!     Shakespeare Republic officially selected for the Festival de Cine de Fuengirola!

    So delighted to announce that we have been officially selected for the Festival de Cine de Fuengirola as part of their inaugural Fuengirola Web Fest for 2017! Many thanks to the judges and organizers for including us in this fascinating line-up of series.     Happy #ShakespeareSunday everyone! What a week it’s been! A new Shakespeare First Folio has been discovered on the Isle of Bute (off Scotland), just in time for Shakespeare’s upcoming birthday celebrations – and we’re brimming with news from The Republic front too!     Shakespeare Republic officially selected for 12MFF in Romania!

    We are delighted to be officially selected for the 12 Months Film Festival in Romania! 12MFF is a wide-ranging festival that covers shorts, features, music videos, web series, trailers and commercials.  Each month films are submitted and if officially selected, go into the running to compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category.  These monthly awards are treated as elimination rounds for the full live screening festival, which takes place in April each year.  The first three placed projects in each category will qualify for the annual event screenings and competition.  To date, 12MFF has showcased and awarded filmmakers from six continents.     Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for the 2016 Sydney World Film Festival

    We are delighted to announce that Sally McLean’s episode as “Billie” performing Sonnet #18 has been Officially Selected for the 2016 Sydney World Film festival in the “Australian Cinema Now” category. We would like to thank the judges and organizers at SWFF for selecting Shakespeare Republic to screen at the festival in this category among some extraordinary Australian short films – and would like to congratulate the winner of the “Australian Cinema Now” category – Sydney Film School & UCLA graduate, Anges Baginska for her short film “Milkmaid”, which has previously won the David Lynch Award (which gave her a scholarship to study an MA in Film under David’s tutelage in…

    We are thrilled to have made Official Selection for the 2016 Near Nazareth Festival in their Web/New Media category!     We are delighted to have made Official Selection status with the 2015 Garden City International Film Festival and October 2015 Roma CinemaDOC in their Web Series/New Media and International Web Series categories, respectively!
