Our celebration of the final festival appearance for Shakespeare Republic: #AllTheWebsAStage (The Lockdown Chronicles) has been a while coming, with the final festival screening in the UK unfortunately being delayed a few months, due to the pandemic. We are delighted to share that the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust “Shakespeare Shorts” Award Ceremony finally happens online later today in the UK, where Jodi Haigh’s episode as “Duke Senior” and Sally McLean’s episode as “Macbeth” have also both been shortlisted! Sally McLean wins Best Actress Award at Andromeda Film Festival
It was so lovely to be invited to submit the final episode of Shakespeare Republic: #AllTheWebsAStage (The Lockdown Chronicles) to the Andromeda Film Festival in Turkey a while back. That alone was a lovely thing to have happen, but it was even more amazing to then be named a winner in the festival with a Best Actress Award going to Sally McLean in her role as “Macbeth”! Amazing! We LOVE how supportive Miami are of all the creators – even those who can’t be there in person. We just realised that in all the Holiday Season madness, we neglected to share these amazing announcements with you all! First up, we are THRILLED to share that Shakespeare Republic: #AllTheWebsAStage (The Lockdown Chronicles) won the Michael Ajakwe Award at the 2021 Digital Media Fest in Italy in December! It is a huge honour for Sally and the team to receive this award. We are thrilled to share that Shakespeare Republic has been announced as an official nominee for the 2022 International Academy of Web Television Awards (IAWTV Awards) in the Best Ensemble Drama category! Congratulations to the 24-strong cast for the current season of the show, who are based in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Los Angeles, New York and Melbourne on this wonderful recognition of their work!
