    Cast Announcement: Shakespeare Republic welcomes new member – Dean Haglund!

    We are delighted to welcome new Republic Member and our first Canadian cast member: Dean Haglund! Meet Dean … Dean is probably best known for his ten seasons playing “Richard “Ringo” Langly”, one of the “The Lone Gunmen” from the hit series The X-Files, and The X-Files spin off, The Lone Gunmen, both for Fox Television. Dean began his career studying multidisciplinary Arts at  the Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, Dance, Visual Arts and Video Production.  During his time at University, he performed many of the classics, including a long list of Shakespeare roles, before going on to specialize in improvisational comedy, beginning…

    Shakespeare Republic is coming to you live in 2016!

    We are so very excited to announce that Shakespeare Republic is expanding our brief in 2016!  Not only are we in the planning stages for Season Two of the webseries, we are also in pre-production/fundraising for our VERY FIRST LIVE SHOW! Yes, that is correct.  In this Shakespeare Anniversary year, marking 400 years since the Bard “shuffled off this mortal coil” (Hamlet, Act III, Sc. 1) in 1616, we will be bringing you Shakespeare Republic live and in person through a series of “event” live performances taking place in Melbourne later this year. All of our original cast are returning and we will be adding some new faces to the line…

    Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for the International Online Web Fest

    In much happier 2016 news, Shakespeare Republic started this New Year with the notification that we had been accepted into the Digitalmation Awards, which brought us up to five festivals in which we have been officially selected including: The Garden City International Film Festival, ROMA CinemaDoc, Near Nazareth Film Festival, Underground Film Fest. And the official selections have continued!  We are delighted to announce that we have been officially selected for the International Online Web Fest!  With a jury of talented and accomplished filmmakers assessing each entry from the UK and Europe, we are truly thrilled to have Season One accepted in this year’s line-up.
