    Shakespeare Republic officially selected for 12MFF in Romania!

    We are delighted to be officially selected for the 12 Months Film Festival in Romania! 12MFF is a wide-ranging festival that covers shorts, features, music videos, web series, trailers and commercials.  Each month films are submitted and if officially selected, go into the running to compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category.  These monthly awards are treated as elimination rounds for the full live screening festival, which takes place in April each year.  The first three placed projects in each category will qualify for the annual event screenings and competition.  To date, 12MFF has showcased and awarded filmmakers from six continents.     Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for the 2016 Sydney World Film Festival

    We are delighted to announce that Sally McLean’s episode as “Billie” performing Sonnet #18 has been Officially Selected for the 2016 Sydney World Film festival in the “Australian Cinema Now” category. We would like to thank the judges and organizers at SWFF for selecting Shakespeare Republic to screen at the festival in this category among some extraordinary Australian short films – and would like to congratulate the winner of the “Australian Cinema Now” category – Sydney Film School & UCLA graduate, Anges Baginska for her short film “Milkmaid”, which has previously won the David Lynch Award (which gave her a scholarship to study an MA in Film under David’s tutelage in…

    Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for the 2016 Peak City International Film Festival

    We are delighted to have been officially selected for the 2016 Peak City International Film Festival (PCIFF), which will be taking place in Apex, North Carolina from April 2, 2016. Sally McLean’s episode as “Billie” performing Sonnet #18 will be leading the charge for the series. We would like to thank the judges and organizers at PCIFF for selecting Shakespeare Republic to screen at the festival – which also marks our first official screening in the USA!  The final awards ceremony will be screened live via Periscope from the Halle Cultural Center and we will let you know the details when we have them.     Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for the 2016 Melbourne Queer Film Festival

    We are delighted to announce that Ben Steel’s episode of Shakespeare Republic as “Jules” (“Juliet”) has been Officially Selected to screen at the 2016 Melbourne Queer Film Festival on April 5th as part of their “Web Shorts” program! We are especially delighted to be accepted into MQFF, as the screening is happening at the hub of all things cinema, ACMI at Federation Square, right here in our home town of Melbourne!     Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for the International Online Web Fest

    In much happier 2016 news, Shakespeare Republic started this New Year with the notification that we had been accepted into the Digitalmation Awards, which brought us up to five festivals in which we have been officially selected including: The Garden City International Film Festival, ROMA CinemaDoc, Near Nazareth Film Festival, Underground Film Fest. And the official selections have continued!  We are delighted to announce that we have been officially selected for the International Online Web Fest!  With a jury of talented and accomplished filmmakers assessing each entry from the UK and Europe, we are truly thrilled to have Season One accepted in this year’s line-up.     Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for the Near Nazareth Festival in Israel

    We are thrilled to have made Official Selection for the 2016 Near Nazareth Festival in their Web/New Media category! Episode 6: Sally McLean as “Billie” (Sonnet 18) has been selected by the festival to represent Season One and we are very much looking forward to the festival taking place in Israel next May!     Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for Garden City International Film Festival and Roma CinemaDOC

    We are delighted to have made Official Selection status with the 2015 Garden City International Film Festival and October 2015 Roma CinemaDOC in their Web Series/New Media and International Web Series categories, respectively! Episode 6: Sally McLean as “Billie” (Sonnnet 18) was chosen by Garden City International Film Festival as the representative episode to compete for the series and Episode 5: Michala Banas as “Phebe” was chosen by Roma CinemaDOC as representative of Season One.
