    Shakespeare Republic nominated for Best Ensemble Drama at the International Academy of Web Television Awards in USA!

    We are thrilled to share that Shakespeare Republic has been announced as an official nominee for the 2022 International Academy of Web Television Awards (IAWTV Awards) in the Best Ensemble Drama category! Congratulations to the 24-strong cast for the current season of the show, who are based in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Los Angeles, New York and Melbourne on this wonderful recognition of their work!     It has been a wonderful week of virtually attending SeriesFest in the USA, where my digital series Shakespeare Republic is screening at the moment as an Official Selection. As much as the pandemic has wreaked havoc, there have been some silver linings in respect to opening up the ability to virtually attend these events for those of us based outside of the UK and US, who might not usually be able to take part.     Shakespeare Republic Season Three is announced as Most Awarded Anthology series in the world!

    We are SO THRILLED to share that Shakespeare Republic was announced overnight as the 6th most awarded web series of 2021 in the world, putting us in the Top 10 web series globally, and the Most Awarded Anthology series on the international stage, as ranked by the Web Series World Cup!!! We are also the #2 web series in Australia, which is amazing!! We are so grateful to all the festivals on the circuit who selected and awarded the show this year, who made this achievement possible.     Sally McLean Named As Finalist In The Scenesaver Birthday Honours Awards In The UK!

    Republic Creator/Director, Sally McLean, was honoured and thrilled to be announced as a Best Director Finalist at the 2021 SceneSaver Birthday Honours Awards in the UK last weekend! Her four fellow nominees are all brilliant UK directing talent, many award-winning with professional credits in theatre, television and radio, including the BBC and Royal Shakespeare Company. The winner of the award was UK Director Nicholas Renton, whose previous directing credits include Silent Witness, Inspector George Gently, Inspector Lewis, The Musketeers, Agatha Christie’s Marple, Jericho and the BAFTA-nominated Wives and Daughters for UK television.     Shakespeare Republic #AllTheWebsAStage wins three more awards!

    It has been a rollercoaster ride for the latest season of Shakespeare Republic over the past six months. The new season, filmed entirely in lockdown in 2020 using a combination of internet technologies, smartphones and the innovation of our director, cast and crew has been having an amazing run on the international film festival circuit since November 2020, most recently winning three awards at the Unrestricted View Film Festival in the UK – Best Web Series (Special Mention), Best Actor in a Web Series (Mark McMinn) and Best Actress in a Web Series (Sally McLean).     We are absolutely thrilled to share that our current season, Shakespeare Republic: #AllTheWebsAStage (The Lockdown Chronicles), has just been announced as the “Best Film” Award Winner at the 2020 Falstaff Awards presented by PlayShakespeare.com!     Shakespeare Republic featured in new academic textbook to be published by Routledge

    Shakespeare Republic is the subject of an entire chapter written by Republic Creator/Director, Sally McLean, for the forthcoming academic textbook Playfulness in Shakespearean Adaptations, due for publication globally by Routledge this July! Sally was approached by the fabulous editors of the book (Marina & Aidan – shout out to both of you!) and invited to submit an abstract (essentially an academic pitch document) for consideration in early 2018, and her chapter was subsequently given the green light for inclusion. After several drafts (huge thanks to Dr Steinar Ellingsen for his expert guidance at the beginning of this process!) and a round of editing suggestions from Marina and Aidan, the final chapter…
