Shakespeare Republic’s final festival appearance is finally happening – a bit later than anticipated!
Our celebration of the final festival appearance for Shakespeare Republic: #AllTheWebsAStage (The Lockdown Chronicles) has been a while coming, with the final festival screening in the UK unfortunately being delayed a few months, due to the pandemic.
We are delighted to share that the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust “Shakespeare Shorts” Award Ceremony finally happens online later today in the UK, where Jodi Haigh’s episode as “Duke Senior” and Sally McLean’s episode as “Macbeth” have also both been shortlisted! We are so very excited to find out who the jury, along with Jury President, Sir Kenneth Branagh, have selected as the winners of each category.
Win, lose or draw tonight (which is the early hours of tomorrow morning for us in Australia!), we are so grateful for the response this season generated both on the festival circuit and further afield. Thank you to everyone for the love, support, interest and enthusiasm you all showed for work that was created out of a very dark time for so many. We hope it brought you some joy, catharsis and above all – the realisation that you aren’t alone.
