Shakespeare Republic has the highest viewing figures of any launch on the Ozflix platform!

What a week it’s been!

This time last week, Shakespeare Republic producers, Sally McLean and Billy Smedley, were getting ready to head over to ACMI in Melbourne for the presenter’s rehearsal for the 2019 Ozflix Independent Film Awards taking place that night. So much has happened concerning the Republic since then, it seems almost impossible that seven days have passed! But they have, so, with no more ado, let’s get to sharing the news!

2019 OZFLIX INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS

What a fantastic night of celebrating Australian Independent Film the 2019 Ozzies at the Australian Museum for the Moving Image were! So much love in the room from and for Aussie Indie filmmakers. Sally and Billy were so thrilled to be a part of it all and be able to participate in the night as presenters for two awards – “Best Male Supporting Actor” and “Best Female Supporting Actor”. During his introduction for Sally and Billy’s appearance on stage, Ozflix CEO, Ron Brown had some truly lovely things to say about Shakespeare Republic, and we finally got to make the announcement we’ve been waiting to release – Ozflix will be our official broadcast and producing partner for Season Three! Here is the clip of the moment we finally got to share this awesome news with the world from the Ozflix live broadcast …

We are deep in writing the scripts for the next season and look forward to bringing you more information as we can publicly release it!

SHAKESPEARE REPUBLIC HAS HISTORIC LAUNCH ON OZFLIX PLATFORM

On Monday April 1, Seasons One & Two of Shakespeare Republic officially launched on the Ozflix platform, and we were astounded to find out on Wednesday that the viewing figures had come in to show that we’d had the highest viewership for a launch in Ozflix’s history to date! A huge thank you to everyone who tuned in to watch the series over that 24 hour period – so thrilled to have such an incredible result! We are so grateful to everyone who has been supporting the work from Season One to now. It really does take a village and we are so delighted to have you all as part of the Republic family!
