Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for the 2016 Sydney World Film Festival
We are delighted to announce that Sally McLean’s episode as “Billie” performing Sonnet #18 has been Officially Selected for the 2016 Sydney World Film festival in the “Australian Cinema Now” category.
We would like to thank the judges and organizers at SWFF for selecting Shakespeare Republic to screen at the festival in this category among some extraordinary Australian short films – and would like to congratulate the winner of the “Australian Cinema Now” category – Sydney Film School & UCLA graduate, Anges Baginska for her short film “Milkmaid”, which has previously won the David Lynch Award (which gave her a scholarship to study an MA in Film under David’s tutelage in the USA) and screened at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner, among other international screenings and awards. With the quality of Australian filmmakers on display here, this really is a case of it being an honour just to be nominated!
