June saw Season Two officially selected for three more festivals – Baja WebFest (Mexico), Miami Web Fest (USA) and Tuscany WebFest (Italy) (who selected us from the official selections at Austin WebFest, which made us an “invited” series, which was awesome!).     Shakespeare Republic: #LoveTheBard (Season Two) has officially launched with a difference this year, with a live show element complementing the web series aspect. For one night only, members of our Season Two cast performed Shakespeare monologues live as part of a promenade theatre style show to promote the new season of the web series.  We played to a sold out house, and had a lot of fun playing the works to a live audience.  While it was hard to capture the true atmosphere of the evening on video, due to the nature of the live show setting, our intrepid cameraman, Paul Anthony Nelson, did an amazing job of getting around…

    What a month it has been! Exciting news is that we have finished filming for Season Two!!  After our initial 2 day shoot in August, we went on to complete a gruelling 8 day shoot in September, but it was totally worth it!  We have some amazing images from the shoot that we are so excited to share with you later this year and have a long list of people to thank for making the filming possible.     We are so very excited to announce that Shakespeare Republic is expanding our brief in 2016!  Not only are we in the planning stages for Season Two of the webseries, we are also in pre-production/fundraising for our VERY FIRST LIVE SHOW! Yes, that is correct.  In this Shakespeare Anniversary year, marking 400 years since the Bard “shuffled off this mortal coil” (Hamlet, Act III, Sc. 1) in 1616, we will be bringing you Shakespeare Republic live and in person through a series of “event” live performances taking place in Melbourne later this year.
