    Shakespeare Republic streaming globally in new home and more news coming this week!

    We are so delighted to share with everyone that Shakespeare Republic has a new home as of April 1 – with the fabulous Australian streaming service Ozflix! The work of the Republic will be streaming globally alongside some of Australia’s greatest feature films, including Mad Max, Romper Stomper, The Castle, The Man From Snowy River, Proof, Animal Kingdom, Wolf Creek, Kenny, Muriel’s Wedding, the list goes on, as well as short films featuring Guy Pearce, Sigrid Thornton, Jack Thompson, Ditch Davey and more and the new strand of Aussie web series, set to take on the world!     SHAKESPEARE REPUBLIC It has been an extraordinary couple of months here at the Republic on the international festival circuit, with a swathe of new official selections for the series, plus three amazing wins this month!!     In case you missed it via our social media channels … We are thrilled to announce that Shakespeare Republic: #LoveTheBard (Season Two) has been nominated for BEST EDITING at Miami Web Fest! Congrats to Sally McLean (Director/Editor), Thanassi Panagiotaras (Editor/Colourist) & Tim McCormick (Sound Editing) for this nod and thank you to the judges! This marks the second nomination in this category for our editing team for Season Two and we couldn’t be prouder of them!     This week we are prepping to attend the upcoming Melbourne Web Fest (running from July 1-3), here in our fair city, but first we will be at the MWF “Spotlight on Melbourne” screening this Thursday, June 30th at Loop Bar to celebrate some of the fantastic creativity coming out of Melbourne onto the world wide web with a showcase of Melbourne web series – of which Shakespeare Republic is one!     What a month June has been!  So much has been going on within the Republic, much of it behind the scenes (more announcements on all that to come), but some events that we haven’t yet had time to share properly and wanted to put together in a digest here to celebrate with you all.  So here goes!     Shakespeare Republic Officially Selected for the 2016 Peak City International Film Festival

    We are delighted to have been officially selected for the 2016 Peak City International Film Festival (PCIFF), which will be taking place in Apex, North Carolina from April 2, 2016. Sally McLean’s episode as “Billie” performing Sonnet #18 will be leading the charge for the series. We would like to thank the judges and organizers at PCIFF for selecting Shakespeare Republic to screen at the festival – which also marks our first official screening in the USA!  The final awards ceremony will be screened live via Periscope from the Halle Cultural Center and we will let you know the details when we have them.
