    Despite currently being in lockdown in Melbourne, which has just been extended for another week (yes, folks, here we go again!), it has been an amazing few weeks for the Republic, with four Official Selections for film festivals around the world being added to our recent announcement of becoming an Official Selection for Apulia Web Fest – and an award nomination in the UK!     2020 brought about a lot of fantastic initiatives from the Arts world, born out of the difficulties presented by the global pandemic, and one of the leading lights is the global showcase platform for theatre, Scenesaver.co.uk.     It has been a rollercoaster ride for the latest season of Shakespeare Republic over the past six months. The new season, filmed entirely in lockdown in 2020 using a combination of internet technologies, smartphones and the innovation of our director, cast and crew has been having an amazing run on the international film festival circuit since November 2020, most recently winning three awards at the Unrestricted View Film Festival in the UK – Best Web Series (Special Mention), Best Actor in a Web Series (Mark McMinn) and Best Actress in a Web Series (Sally McLean).     Shakespeare Republic: #AllTheWebsAStage (The Lockdown Chronicles) wins Best Film at the 2020 Falstaff Awards

    We are absolutely thrilled to share that our current season, Shakespeare Republic: #AllTheWebsAStage (The Lockdown Chronicles), has just been announced as the “Best Film” Award Winner at the 2020 Falstaff Awards presented by PlayShakespeare.com!     The results are in from Sicily Web Fest‘s Award ceremony and we are over-the-moon to announce that our brilliantly talented Shaun Herbertson has won us the Best Cinematography Award!!! Huge congratulations Shaun for this well-deserved win!! We were up against some impressive work in this category from all around the world and are just so thrilled with this accolade!! June saw Season Two officially selected for three more festivals – Baja WebFest (Mexico), Miami Web Fest (USA) and Tuscany WebFest (Italy) (who selected us from the official selections at Austin WebFest, which made us an “invited” series, which was awesome!).     Two award wins for Shakespeare Republic on film festival circuit!!

    We are delighted to announce that Shakespeare Republic had a rather exciting weekend, just gone – winning two awards internationally!     Nominate Shakespeare Republic for the 2016 Literary Inspired Web Series Awards!

    We are delighted to discover that we are up for nomination for the 2016 Literary Inspired Webseries Awards!  But … we need your help … So, how does this work?  The fabulous Literary Webseries Center in California wanders the internet each year looking at literary-inspired web series.  Around February each year, they compile a list of the webseries from this genre they feel represent the best the web has to offer and then put that list up for a public vote (that’s where you come in). The public have just under a month to cast their votes for their favourite webseries in ten categories.  Those votes are tallied and then…
